Not too much progress yet on my box but one side done!! I have been doing correct techniques and doing 45 degree angles on each side and slipping and scoringand adding the coils. It easy to understand, but it was sorta difficult to make sure they are stuck and ready. But I think it will be a success! This is my Bique piece! It's a plump elephant that just came fresh out of the kennel. My elephant stayed perfectly intact and thankfully didn't explode. It's much white now and hard unable to mold. It seems sort of chalky and smaller. To get theses good results I was sure to put a big hole in the bottom and it stayed nicely intact. Also I was sure to smooth it out perfectly so I would like it when I came out! I'm happy with my elephants results from the kennel! In the colored portrait I first began with sketching the overall shapes of the face adding very little detail in pencil. Next, I mixed colors like green blue red yellow and white to make the perfect skin tone, some darker than the others. After, I did the lips and eyes including highlights and shadows with texture. And finally I added the hair and after it was semi dry I took a dry brush and stroked the brush along the page to create a hair like texture. And at the very end I added the solid orange color.
